Social Events

The club’s social secretary arranges various events throughout the year. Past events have included bowling, bat and trap, petanque,  meals, clay shooting and cabaret nights.

Diving

The club’s expeditions officer organises diving related outings for the members. Last year as well as local lake dives (click here for info and photos) we had a weekend at Plymouth which included dives on HMS Scylla and the James Eagan Layne.

The more hardy members of the club take part in a New years Day dive. This year it was at Buckland Lake where the water temperature was 2°c but the complimentary bacon rolls warmed us up. Afterwards we went to a local pub for a buffet, a few drinks and a reunion with some past members.

This year some club members had a weeks liveaboard holiday in the Maldives and were lucky enough to see manta rays, sharks, whale sharks and turtles. Click here for photos.
